Patriotic Citizen Initiatives (PCI) team proudly participated in the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Implementing Partners Training held in Abuja in April 2026. The training, themed “Strengthening the Capacity of Implementing Partners (IPs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Referral Case Management and Data Management to Ensure the Protection of Beneficiaries and Timely Delivery of Reintegration Assistance to Nigerian Returnees,” provided a valuable platform for learning, reflection, and professional growth.

Throughout the sessions, PCI team engaged deeply with critical areas that are central to effective reintegration programming. A key highlight was the comprehensive exploration of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), which reinforced the importance of empathetic engagement, active listening, and psychosocial first aid in supporting returnees through their reintegration journey.

In addition, the training strengthened our capacity in case management, emphasizing structured approaches to handling beneficiary cases with professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability. The sessions on data management provided practical insights into safeguarding sensitive information, ensuring data accuracy, and upholding the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.

The training also covered standard documentation and reporting practices, equipping participants with the tools to maintain consistency, transparency, and quality in program implementation and reporting. These components are essential in ensuring that reintegration assistance is not only timely but also impactful and sustainable.

PCI remains committed to applying these enhanced skills and knowledge to improve service delivery, protect the dignity of beneficiaries, and contribute meaningfully to the reintegration ecosystem in Nigeria.

We extend our appreciation to IOM for organizing this impactful training and for their continued partnership in strengthening the capacity of implementing organizations.
