On Tuesday, 12th August 2025, the TET-Fund Reintegration Team, led by Professor Oyenuga, a distinguished Professor of Criminology (Sociology) at Lagos State University (LASU), met with Mr. Osita Osemene, Executive Director of Patriotic Citizen Initiatives (PCI).
The research visit was aimed at understudying Nigeria’s reintegration structures and processes, with a particular focus on gathering input from Civil Society Organizations such as PCI.
During the meeting, Mr. Osita Osemene provided a comprehensive overview of migrant return and reintegration in line with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He elaborated on the protection systems PCI has in place for migrants, including its dedicated male shelter facility, and highlighted the globally recognized Business Entrepreneurship Training program. This program equips returnees with essential business skills using the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) materials.
The engagement concluded with a group photograph, presentation of the PCI Reintegration Booklet to the visiting team, and a mutual commitment to strengthen collaboration for improved reintegration outcomes.
